Thinking of Halloween decor typically conjures up memories of bright, traffic cone orange, cartoonish witches a ghouls, and faux spider webs draped all around. While this type of decor was fun when we were kids, it doesn’t exactly scream “put together adult,” which is totally fine if you don’t mind it. For those who prefer a more minimalistic approach to decor, then typical Halloween decor may be more frightful than any other tricks reserved for the holiday. Here are some chic Halloween decor ideas you can incorporate into your home to create an elegantly spooky vibe.

Vintage Victorian Vibe

Blogger Ashley Robertson showed off her elegant Halloween display that comes together using many pieces that can be used throughout the rest of the year. She combined a chic black bust, ornate gold mirror, elevated candles, and a faux skull to create this polished decor corner. She added neutral dried flowers and a touch of decorative bats and even a subtle spider in there to really take it to the next level.

Subtly Spooky Vignette

Vignettes are a great way to add a small burst of decor into a room and show off some personality. They’re also a great opportunity to add a festive flair to a room without having holiday decor take over completely. Ansel & Ivy co-founder Anum Tariq showed us how it’s done here by bringing together black and white mini pumpkins with a subtle succulent and burnt orange flowers, tying everything together with gold accents. This lovely arrangement only needs to be slightly tweaked to work for the rest of the year as well.

Spooked Up Shelf

Another simple decor solution is to add some festive accents to your book shelf. This allows you to add on to your existing space and requires minimal setup. Designer Emily Henderson accomplished this adorable and Halloween-y shelf by adding pumpkins of varying textures and designs, small spider accents, a delightfully creepy skeleton hand, and crow — all while keeping a simple and high contrast color scheme.
